The Parish Church of St. Mary Alderbury and Whaddon
Part of the Clarendon Team of Churches
St Mary's has been holding Men's Breakfasts for over ten years. These informal gatherings are an opportunity for men to meet together in a very informal setting, chat, enjoy a full English cooked breakfast and hear a speaker give a brief talk. Speakers are often invited guests but also includes members of the group speaking on a topic of interest to them. Among our guest speakers have been The Dean of Salisbury Cathedral, The Headteacher of the local school, our Bishops, our MP, and many others...
The group meets every two - three months in the village Bowls Club clubhouse at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Meeting are always advertised in the parish magazine, The Fountain. Attendance is normally around 20 - 25 men, aged from 30 to 80 plus, both church members and non-members. The group is open to all (well, men!) and everyone is welcome, just turn up, we are very friendly.
